District 1-F Lions Convention Will Kick Off This Weekend
Hello my fellow Lions and Leos,

Here’s wishing everyone enjoyed the recent Easter and Passover holidays, and that each of you find yourselves in good spirits and health.

I am excited to kick off this year’s District 1-F Lions Convention, which begins Friday and runs through Sunday. We have planned lots of fun and educational activities, not the least of which includes our annual Silent Auction. And this year’s auction includes some fantastic items, such as a life-size cardboard cutout of Angelina Jolie as Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft. Oh, and we also have four tickets to a Chicago Cubs game, two pairs of tickets to a couple of White Sox games, a golf outing, a couple overnight hotel stays, a Chicago Cubs golf bag, and don’t forget the Angelina Jolie cardboard cutout.
Haven’t registered for convention yet? Not to worry, it’s not too late. You are welcome to attend as a walk-in for many of the activities. Just drop by the Renaissance Chicago Northshore hotel in Northbrook to register on site.

That’s right, we have moved the convention north, back to the Renaissance Chicago Northshore in Northbrook, to make it more accessible to Lions throughout District 1-F. We have some fun things planned that I think will be a good time for all.
The convention theme this year is Viva Las Vegas, in honor of the location of this year’s Lions Clubs International Convention in Las Vegas.

Along with our convention each year comes our annual District 1-F elections for the district’s next set of leaders.

I want to thank all of the Lions volunteers who have worked very hard to put this year’s convention together. In fact, I thank everyone for all their hard work this year in the name of Lions.

After convention, of course, I will pick up where I left off with my goal to visit all the Lions Clubs in District 1-F. In the meantime, I hope to see you at convention!

Yours in Lionism,
Lion Alan J. Barack
