National Heritage Area - Event with Congressman John Garamendi and the Delta Protection Commission
On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, I attended an event with special guest Congressman John Garamendi and members of the Delta Protection Commission, to celebrate the enactment of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area (NHA). The Delta is the first National Heritage Area in the State of California. The Delta NHA boundary includes the Yolo Bypass, the legal Delta of Yolo, Solano, and Contra Costa Counties, the legal Delta primary zone of San Joaquin County, and the Suisun Marsh and Carquinez Strait. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai in Clarksburg
On Monday, March 25, 2019, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai toured Wilson Vineyards in Clarksburg. While there, Mr. Pai learned of the disparity in the area's agricultural community due to the lack of broadband service. We discussed, and he understood, that better cell service is critical in our rural areas if we expect to continue thriving. More to come on rural broadband service. Sacramento Metro Chamber's
Capitol-to-Capitol Event
I attended the 2019 Capitol to Capitol trip which was held May 4th-9th this year. Sacramento Metro Chamber touts this trip as "the largest delegation of its kind to visit Washington D.C. and advocate on behalf of a region's businesses with nearly 400 delegates." Once there, I met with administrative and congressional representatives and discussed the many issues facing Yolo County. I returned home with a plethora of praise for all that our county is achieving, and offers of continued help on matters concerning Health and Human Services and water/flood issues.
Clarksburg Flood Risk
Reduction Study
Yolo County was awarded funds from the California Department of Water Resources to study flood risk reduction in Clarksburg, along with the towns of Yolo and Knights Landing. County staff presented findings of this study at the May 21, 2019 Board of Supervisors Meeting.  Please click here for more information.   .

  Boards and Commissions Reception
My office hosted a reception for all members of District 1 Boards and Commissions on Wednesday evening, March 27, 2019. During the reception all Board/Commission members shared information with respect to their duties and gave an update on the current status of their board's work. This get-together also gave me a chance to thank each and every member for volunteering their time and effort in giving back to their community.
