Note From Oscar:
Fall Greetings!
The month of October serves as the showcase for many celebrations including, Breast Cancer Awareness, Red Ribbon Week, Domestic Violence Awareness, National Friends of the Library Week and of course, Halloween Day. Please be mindful of these important topics and I urge you to support any and all related events.   It is an exciting time for the local libraries.  Last month I attended the Clarksburg Friends of the Library Wine Tasting and Art Auction which was very successful and lots of fun.   This month, I look forward to attending the West Sacramento Friends of the Library Annual Dinner on October 21st.  I encourage your support of the Friends of the Library groups.  The libraries serve as the brain trust for our communities.  There are so many activities available for toddlers, children, teens, parents and community in general.  This month a special screening of "Making a Nation:  The Untold Story of the Declaration of Independence (1776) will be featured at the Arthur F. Turner Community Library in West Sacramento on Thursday, October 29th, from 6pm-8pm.  I invite you to join me in in viewing this informative episode. Until then, e njoy the great weather and pumpkin-spiced lattes while you have the chance!
