 St. Joseph Vessel Removed
 From The River
A year after the vacated St. Joseph shrimp vessel was mysteriously cut from the dock and left to float dangerously down river, it was finally towed from Stan's Marina to a salvage yard. Removing this vessel took the combined efforts of many individuals, governmental agencies and local businesses. To watch a video of its removal  click here.
Appointment to National Association of Counties (NACo)
In July I was appointment by NACo President Greg Cox as 2018-2019 Vice-Chair of Human Services and Education Steering Committee. Port of West Sacramento
secures a $272,000 Grant
As Chair of the Port of West Sacramento, I am pleased to announce that a grant application to State Parks (Boating and Waterways) was approved in the amount of $272,000.00 in early August. This grant funds the Lake Washington derelict vessel clean-up project which eliminates unsafe boating conditions, and provides an opportunity to expand recreational activities.

Cache Creek Resources Management Plan Receives Merit Award
Yolo County's Cache Creek Resources Management Plan is a creek restoration plan that eliminates in-channel commercial mining and establishes a policy and regulatory framework for seven important elements: covering agriculture, aggregate resources, riparian and wildlife resources, water resources, floodway and channel stability, open space and recreation, and the cultural landscape. I am pleased to announce that on September 11, 2018, I received an email from CSAC indicating that our outstanding program was being honored with a Merit Award.
