NEW MINI PARK NEXT TO THE
WESTCHESTER CULTURAL ARTS CENTER
7900 SW 40 STREET

Commissioner Souto would like to inform you that the new Mini Park next to the Westchester Cultural Arts Center will be completed by April 2022.

To be inaugurated first week of April 2022.

This special park will be an area for open-air events and activities, with a main plaza and stage, sidewalks, food trucks area, etc. The mini-park will feature special lighting and also shade areas.

We will keep you posted as we get closer to the grand opening event.

COMMISSIONER SOUTO SHOWS HIS SUPPORT FOR THE PERUVIAN HORSE GROUP
(HACIENDA LA CAPULLANA)

On Sunday, February 13, 2022, Commissioner Souto showed his support to the "Hacienda La Capullana" farm located in the Redland area owned by Samuel Carrasco. The event was to showcase the Peruvian Horse Group that does this event every year.
 
The Peruvian Horse Group has participated in the past at the Miami International Agriculture, Horse and Cattle and will once again participate this year on April 8-10, 2022 in Tropical Park.
 
Commissioner Souto would like to congratulate Samuel Carrasco and his group for putting together a great show/event.

NEW DRIANAGE PROJECT IN DISTRICT 10
(SW 32 Street to SW 34 Street between SW 97 Avenue and SW 94 Avenue)
Commissioner Souto would like to inform residents in the area between SW 32 Street and SW 34 Street and between SW 97 Avenue and SW 94 Avenue that construction has started for a new drainage improvement project.
 
Work includes but is not limited to the construction and installation of drainage structures, french drains, grading, sodding, and roadway restoration that includes the construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed following the construction plans.
 
We hope that this project will improve the drainage system in this area.
NEW RESURFACING PROJECT IN DISTRICT 10
(SW 48 Street between SW 87 Avenue and SW 97 Avenue)
Commissioner Souto would like to inform the residents of SW 48 Street between SW 87 Avenue and SW 97 Avenue that the roadway resurfacing and sidewalk ramp construction project has started. Phase one is the removal of all ADA sidewalk ramps and replacing them with new ADA sidewalk ramps. Phase two of the project includes resurfacing of the roadway and marking of the street will begin once the ADA Sidewalk ramps have been replaced.
 
This is one of many projects to come in the near future. Commissioner Souto would like to thank Joaquin Rabassa, Miami-Dade County Public Works Construction Manager, and his team for the great work they do in repaving the streets in District 10.

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 21 by 4 PM
Commissioner Souto would like to remind all small business owners in District 10 that the deadline to turn in your application is February 21st by 4 PM. All applications must be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to NANA at 5120 NW 24 Avenue, Miami, FL 33142.
No late applications will be accepted.
 
Once the selections are made the announcement will be made by the Neighbors and Neighbors Association (NANA).

SPEEDING ENFORCEMENT 
BY MIAMI-DADE POLICE IN DISTRICT 10

Commissioner Souto continues to ask Miami-Dade Police to enforce the issue of speeding in District 10. We would like to thank Miami-Dade Police for being out in the community enforcing our laws and keeping our community safe. Speeding continues to be one of our major issues in Miami-Dade County, a very grave violation of our laws. We will continue enforcing and applying the laws in a very strong manner to eliminate from our roadways this issue. We ask our residents to please obey speed limits and drive carefully! Drive responsibly!
HOMEBOUND VACCINATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE
Commissioner Souto would like to share with you information on the Homebound vaccination that Miami-Dade County is offering.

Appointments for homebound vaccinations for individuals 12 years of age or older can be scheduled by calling 1-888-201-5490 or emailing [email protected]. Appointments can be made Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM excluding holidays.
