Dear D113 Community,

As I shared last week, District 113 has embarked on a strategic planning process that will shape the direction of our district for the next five years. A Strategic Plan team that includes students, parents, teachers, staff, community members, and administrators has begun work to create a draft of a plan that will be presented to the Board of Education for its consideration. As part of that process, we are asking for your feedback to ensure the direction of the strategic plan team is informed by the thoughts and opinions of all stakeholders. Your feedback is critically important to the process.

The Draft SWOT analysis--strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats--created from the deep dive into District data that the Strategic Plan team reviewed and discussed at its first session. Now we need your input to ensure that the SWOT identifies and reflects each of these areas accurately. What resonates, what is missing. what needs clarification or lacks nuance? We want you to tell us either by joining an in-person focus group, or by participating in an online survey.

In-Person Focus Groups

To that end, we are offering four in-person focus group sessions to be held on March 10 and March 11. All are invited but space is limited to 30 people per session. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis through this registration form. 

Monday, March 10

Highland Park High School Library

Session 1: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. 

Session 2: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 11

Deerfield High School Library 

Session 3: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. 

Session 4: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m

The purpose of these in-person sessions is to gather your input on the feedback generated by the Strategic Planning team. Each session is exactly the same. Select the session that fits best with your schedule. Unlike regular school, there is no homework and nothing you need to prepare in advance. Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity to help identify the goals and objectives that will guide District 113 over the next five years.
