BUDGET TOWN HALL

There are budget town halls happening all over the city starting March 6th. We will host one in District 12 on Tuesday, March 7th, 7-8 pm at Renner Frankford Library. This is your chance to share your budget priorities and ask questions BEFORE the budget is drafted by the city manager. I look forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts.

Short Term Rentals (AirBnB/VRBO)

It's (past) time for a city council vote on adopting the zoning recommendations of the plan commission on short-term rentals. When we can't get an item to come to the council for a vote the regular way, we have to do a 5-signature memo. We've asked for a final briefing 4/4 and council vote 4/11. I hope everybody who has written or called me to give input on STRs will sign up to speak or send an email when we get closer. (I'll remind you and send you a link!)
Public Facilities Corporation

Some saw social media posts sharing last minute information received about a meeting on Tuesday to consider adding <MORE> affordable apartments on the north side of McCallum and Coit. Thank you to the people who registered to speak and made great points about the challenges that already exist and the non-sense of giving up the property taxes for 75 years and actually creating affordable housing that costs more than current rent. The outcome of the meeting is they tabled the item to the next meeting at the end of March. More information will be coming soon.
