Coronavirus (COVID-19)

District 13 acknowledges these are uncertain times for all of us. We remain committed to the wellbeing of every member and club and to sharing information with you.
Club Meetings
  • At the discretion of the club, club meetings may occur online, in-person, or both.
  • Division Directors have been provided Zoom accounts to share with clubs to help them facilitate their online meetings. 

District Events
  • No in-person events are permitted on an Area, Division or District level through June 1st.
  • A virtual District Council meeting will be held on April 18. The online meeting instructions will be forwarded. We look forward to electing our 2020-2021 District Leaders!
  • The DEC met virtually on Wednesday, March 18 and voted to cancel all Division and District contests for the 2019-2020 Toastmasters year.
Online Training                                                                          
  • The Program Quality team will provide tutorials and a help desk for assistance conducting online meetings.
  • Online Meeting Help Desk please contact online@d13tm.com.
  • We are looking for tech savvy members to assist our clubs and members in facilitating online meetings. Please contact pqd@d13tm.com to volunteer.
District Conference
  • The April 18 in-person spring conference is canceled. 
  • The conference team is looking at the options for rescheduling speaker presentations either online or in-person.
  • Any payments made thus far will be issued refunds. 
  • DTM ceremonies and other district recognition events will be planned once additional guidance is available from TI.
Area Director Visits, Distinguished Club Program (DCP), Membership Payments, Achieving Your DTM
  • Remaining Area Director visits for Round 2 are to be conducted online (whether or not a club meets online or in-person).
  • Progress towards the DCP will continue as planned. 
  • Membership payments should continue to be collected. A dues extension has been granted through April 30.
  • Yes, you can still achieve your DTM. Contact our DTM Chair Carol Snyder for help. dtm@d13tm.com
Special Announcements From Toastmasters World Headquarters:

So you can help prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) please see the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control.
If any of the statements below apply to you, we respectfully ask that you not attend Club, Area, Division, or District events in person:
  • Feel sick or have symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, etc.)
  • Recently had contact with an person known or suspected to have COVID-19
  • If you are in a higher risk group as defined by the CDC
  • Traveled to China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Italy, Iran or other high-risk areas in the past 14 days
If your club is holding meetings in person:
  • Avoid shaking hands and other physical contact
  • Create physical open space to minimize close contact
  • Provide hand washing capabilities, hand sanitizer, and/or disinfectant wipes as well as tissues
  • Avoid touching your face or high touch surfaces with your bare hands
  • Do not serve food or refreshments at meetings or events
