Learning at Home
The second full week of e-Learning has come to a close. Although teachers and staff miss seeing each of their students every day, they are so excited to see how families have come together to continue the learning experience at home.

Below are just a few of the wonderful examples of what learning at home can look like. Continue to share your experiences on social media by tagging your school and using #WeAre146. Follow District 146 on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more ideas.
Nearly 100 6th grade math students participated in a Gimkit (live quiz game) on adding and subtracting fractions! After two rounds, students still wanted more! Science students got to create their own planet and shared drawings and information about them with their peers.

Ms. Lingl did a Zoom math lesson on addition word problems and challenged students to use their toys to show her a word problem. She was thrilled with the responses and even more excited to see her students happy and engaged! Click the image below to see the video!
Whether using technology or traditional methods, students at Fulton are continuing their education in stride. Please click here to see a video of Carson, an early learning student, practice his counting at home.

Students at Kruse have been prepping for careers as Avengers! Mr. Rojas and Mr. Kociolek have enrolled their 3rd and 5th grade students in the virtual Avengers Training Academy. They used Zoom to work out together just as if they were in the gym.

Rylee, a 2nd grade student at Memorial, was very excited for her one-on-one meeting with Mrs. Brown. Rylee’s mom said, “Our experience during this crazy time has been nothing but amazing with our kids’ teachers! Their dedication to staying in touch with their kids and always being available is absolutely amazing!”

On e-Learning Days, District 146 requires students to submit attendance using a Google Form.

Elementary Schools: Classroom teachers will share the student attendance link each e-Learning Day with their respective families by 8:30 a.m.

Central Middle School: Period 2 teachers will send their Period 2 students the link for attendance to be completed each day. Information about how attendance is taken will be sent to parents and parents will be contacted regarding attendance concerns.

Learning Resources
In addition to the assignments and resources being provided each day by your child's teacher, the District 146 curriculum department and teachers have compiled a list of e-Learning resources to keep the learning going while at home.

This week's featured resource:
Have you ever wondered why whales breach? Or how movies are made? Wonderopolis is a question of the day blog providing answers to frequently asked student questions.
