Dear Lyons Township High School Community,

The purpose of this message is to provide an update regarding District 204’s Willow Springs property.

As previously shared, District 204 has owned undeveloped land in Willow Springs near 79th Street and Willow Springs Road for more than 65 years. Originally purchased in the late 1950s for a potential third campus, due to enrollment stabilization during the last several decades, the property is no longer needed for that purpose. For over two years, the Board has engaged in extensive discussions about the property and its potential future uses, including conversations with the community, the Village of Willow Springs, the Pleasantdale Park District, and Pleasantdale School District 107. 

During Spring 2026, the Board completed the following efforts related to a potential property sale:

• In March 2026, the District 204 Board approved an agreement with Moses Hall from MoHall Commercial and Urban Development to provide real estate consultant services regarding the District's Willow Springs Property.
• In April 2026, Moses Hall presented a tentative marketing plan to the District 204 Board of Education. 
• In May 2026, Environmental Group Services (EGS), Ltd. completed a Phase I Environmental Study of the property.  
• In June 2026, V3 Companies, Ltd. completed a wetlands study of the property.  

On Monday, August 3, the Board reviewed and discussed the proposed project schedule and timeline and the components of the marketing plan, which were both presented by Moses Hall. Both of these documents can be accessed below, and the marketing plan is scheduled to be officially launched within the next 7-10 days.

The Board continues to view the Willow Springs Property as a valuable asset and is committed to leveraging its desirability and value to support facility updates across both campuses and advance Goal 5 of the Strategic Plan. Equally, the Board is dedicated to ensuring a transparent and thoughtful process and will continue to share updates with the community as this process evolves.
