District 27 Toastmasters invites you to its annual conference where you can hear phenomenal speakers, attend professional development and personal growth seminars about leadership, negotiation, communication, teamwork, and mentorship. Learn how to develop your personal story and how to improve on your public speaking. We will also have our annual International Speech Contest where fellow Toastmasters compete live for the chance to become the World Champion of Public Speaking.

THE DISTRICT 27: SLATE OF DLC NOMINATED CANDIDATES FOR 2023-2024
PLEASE NOTE: All District 27 Leadership roles listed below, and on the the DLC Report that are labeled as (Incomplete) are open to qualified candidates who would like to run from the floor. "Protocol 9.0" states the following regarding elected offices the DLC Report has noted as
"(incomplete)".
"If there is still time, the DLC Chair may reopen the opportunity for candidates to submit their nomination application to the DLC to be considered for any role. The reopening opportunity cannot be limited to specific roles. If the DLC Chair does not have time to re-open the nomination application and evaluate all candidates, the roles that do not have the required number of nominated candidates will be incomplete on the DLC report. Qualified candidates may run from the floor without being evaluated by the DLC, provided they submit their intent to run at least seven (7) days in advance to the District Director."
District 27's 2023 deadline for ALL Floor Candidates to declare their intention to run from the floor for either a position for which they were interviewed, but failed to be nominated for. Or, one of the remaining "Incomplete" District Leadership Positions (Club Growth Director & Division Director for Divisions A, B, D, E, & F) is Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. EST. A completed Candidate Biography, Photograph and the Officer Agreement & Release Statement MUST be submitted by the above stated deadline to District 27 Director, LaShawn Foster, DTM, VIA EMAIL at DD27@D27-TM.ORG. At the business meeting, floor candidates MUST be nominated by a member of the District Council. Floor candidates can only self-nominate if they are a member of the District Council.

This is just a gentle reminder to those members of the District Council who are required to submit a report for the Delegate's Packet that will be distributed ahead of the May 6, 2023 Business Meeting. Please be advised that your report must be submitted to District 27 Director, LaShawn Foster, DTM, no later than Saturday, April 22, 2023, via email at DD27@D27-TM.ORG
Delegate's Packet report templates will be emailed to you on Monday, April 3, 2023. We ask that you please follow the instructions provided with the template that you receive, and not alter or go beyond your template's instructions. If you have questions regarding the reporting process. Please direct them to the District 27 Director via the email address provided above.

Toastmasters International has gone live with Member Self Pay. Now all members of Toastmasters International have the option to pay their own club dues privately, securely, and at a time that fits their busy schedules. Since the launch of Member Self Pay the District has received many requests for instructions on how to use this new functionality. You spoke. We listened! As a result, the District has developed 2 separate slide presentations to assist both Club Officers & Club Members with the use of Member Self Pay.

Do you have a passion for assisting your fellow Toastmasters & their clubs to achieve excellence? Are you great at problem solving, troubleshooting and time management? Do you live in the Continental United States? If you answered yes to these questions and you meet the requirements listed below. District 27 Toastmasters wants YOU as part of our D27 Club Coaching Team.
Club Coach Requirements:
- Are a paid member in good standing
- Have not been a member of the eligible club in the past six months
- Have been a member of Toastmasters International for at least one year
- Have served as a club officer for one annual term or two semiannual terms
- Have completed a minimum of Level 2 in a path, or an Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB), or an Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB)
- Have completed the Club Coach Program Training module

Division-Level Spring Speech Contests have begun!
Join us as fellow Toastmasters compete in the Division-Level speech contests to advance to the District 27 International Speech Contest on May 6, 2023. Cheer on your favorite contestant as they try to win the top spot as the District's Best Public Speaker!

PROGRAM QUALITY DIRECTOR INCENTIVES |
|
Any District 27 club that had all 7 club officers attend both the Summer & Winter TLI trainings will earn the Dream Team 7 Incentive and get a set of club officer pins.
The second D27 Program Quality Incentive that is available to clubs is the Perfect 10 Incentive which will be awarded to the first 10 District 27 clubs who achieved all 10 DCP goals and meets the required membership payment targets for their individual club per the Toastmasters International dashboard.
The last Program Quality Incentive is the DTM Touchdown. Any District 27 member who earns his/her DTM before April 30, 2023 will receive a DTM medal.

Any D27 Toastmasters member who provides the District 27 Club Growth Director with a qualified club lead that results in a newly-chartered club will receive a Toastmasters shirt or hoodie.
The lead must have been provided to the Club Growth Director, and the club must have chartered
before June 1, 2023.

5 BRINGS YOUR CLUB ALIVE! |
District 27 clubs that A) have eight members renewed for the April 1, 2023 – September 30, 2023 period AND B) enroll 5 new club members by March 1, 2023 will receive a Toastmasters promotional pen and a Toastmasters coffee mug.
