District 27 Members,
I trust that you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday filled with love, family, food and fun.
Area Director Club Visit Reports:
It is now time for an update on the status of the District. At the time of writing, 84% of our Area Director Club Visit Reports have been submitted to Toastmasters International. The 43-day Government shutdown and the Holiday Schedule hampered some club visits.
October Dues Renewal:
Our club base has dropped from 91 to 82 due to 9 clubs that are not in good standing (that means the clubs do not have the minimum of 8 members to be considered in good standing). Two of these 9 clubs have not paid any renewal dues for the October renewal period.
Distinguished Clubs Program:
With regards to Distinguished Club Program Goals, we set a goal for all clubs to achieve at least 5 goals by December 31st,2025. To date, most clubs have between 1 and 7 goals achieved, while 10 clubs have not achieved any goals. We are rooting for you to accomplish your 5 goals by March 31st if you did not reach your goal by December 31st.
Moving Forward:
Our goal for the next few months is to have our clubs continue recruiting new members to Toastmasters and achieve a minimum of 5 DCP Goals.
We all have experienced personal growth in our communication and leadership skills, and these experiences are worth sharing. Let’s aim to grow our club membership to 20-25 members.
If not, let us at least get to what our base membership was in July, plus 3 or 5 new, reinstated or dual members.
In addition, we need to ensure that our members are progressing in the Toastmasters Education Program. We know that once our members succeed, everything falls into place. When members succeed, then the club succeeds, the Area, the Division and the District. It’s a ripple effect.
Club Officers who have not yet attended winter training, please make it a priority to attend before February 28th 2026. Your club is depending on you!
We are looking for leads to build at least 18 clubs within the next 6 months. Please provide this information to your Area and Division Directors and the Club Growth Team. When you build a club, you leave a legacy for others to follow. Let's Go District 27. We Can Do This!

Call For District Leadership:
It is time to send out a call for District Leaders. In July 2026, District 27 and District 36
will merge to become District 220. This merging of Districts affects all Districts in
Regions 1 through 7, which encompass all of North America, including Canada,
the Caribbean and South America.
Toastmasters International found it necessary to realign districts (similar to what we do in the district to realign clubs) because the cost to run a district with fewer than 100 clubs presents financial constraints, as well as difficulty in finding members willing to step up into leadership positions.
In this newsletter, information will be put forward by the District 220 Leadership chairs Annette Sanks, DTM, IPDD and Ena Okah, DTM, PDD. I invite you to nominate someone else, or even
yourself, to become a leader of the inaugural team of District 220. This merger is going to be exciting. We will reunite with old friends, meet new people and form a most formidable district.
