Inspirational Message of the Month

Health and Wellness

Happy New Year District 27! Welcome to 2024!

It is that time again, when most people set goals and make changes for a better way of living. As a District 27 Toastmaster, I know we are ahead of the pack and have already starting working toward achieving our goals for 2024! We should all strive to be our best, living life to our full potential. Without taking some time to focus on physical health and body wellness, it can be difficult to be all that you can be.

If you ask ten people to describe physical health and body wellness goals, you are more than likely to get ten different answers. Just to help you get started. Here are some ideas for physical health and body wellness related goals: weight loss, body sculpting, eating healthy, exercise, mindfulness, getting enough sleep, work-life balance, becoming a vegetarian or vegan, eliminating added sugar in your diet, reducing stress and anxiety, focusing on staying in the moment, preparing home cooked meals, and the list goes on.

Once you determine your goals, start getting and staying motived to see your goals through to the end. Make a plan; begin by taking inventory and assessing where you are. Then determine where you want to be. Fill in the gaps by figuring out the steps required to get you from your start to finish. Make sure you do regular check-ins to see how things are going and to make any necessary changes needed to keep you on track to reaching your goals. A great way to give your goal the upfront thought it needs is to make it SMART - Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

Wishing you all a wonderful and fun-filled new year. Go out and make 2024 the best!

Sincerely,

Deborah Jones
