June 2024 | Issue 15

McNab House & Gardens: In May, the CRA entered a contract for detailed designs for the reimagined McNab House site. Plans include a proposed garden, restaurant and playground. Final construction drawings are expected in 2025.

Oceans of Fun: Pompano continues to make the most of its coast with a new underwater webcam that lets you observe marine life at the pier. Plus, the Wahoo Bay Marine Park is now hosting field trips to teach kids the importance of healthy oceans and reefs.

Free Shuttle: The City and County jointly operate a free shuttle available to all residents. There are four routes that make it easy to get around town. The service is designed to connect with bus routes.

Commission Highlights

  • Proposals to allow longer term leases, to allow longer term contracts to be entered with only one reading, and to make it easier for the city to transfer property to the CRA were placed on the November ballot by the City. We’ll discuss at my next community meeting
  • BSO Captain Martin Hedlund, originally a Pompano Beach PD officer, lifelong resident and advocate for autism awareness announced his retirement. We appreciate his service and he will be missed.

POLL RESULT: Are you prepared for hurricane season?
