June 2023 Volume 12
Councilmember Justin Jones
June 2, 2023

Dear Neighbors,

It was an honor join my colleagues yesterday for the Pride Flag raising at City Hall. In our great city, we choose to embrace our diversity, and must continue to foster an inclusive community where each individual is treated with dignity and respect. Many thanks to the local community organizations and city departments that have organized opportunities for us to commemorate, celebrate and learn together during Pride Month.

I also would like to take a moment and congratulate all of our 2023 graduates across Pasadena, who are leveling-up to the next chapter of their lives! We will continue to cheer you on in your future endeavors. Keep soaring!

Warm regards,
Sig

Name Your Pool, Pasadena!
Pasadena’s newest pool is under construction and the City of Pasadena needs YOU to help name it!

On the site of the Robinson Park Recreation Center at 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave., the new facility features a larger pool with zero-entry access; a renovated pool building with accessible showers, and restroom facilities. Project includes a Youth Community room, new lighting and resurfaced the parking lot.

From Thursday, June 1 through Friday, July 7, the City seeks your input on a proposed pool name: The Honorable John J. Kennedy Pool.  Please complete the online form with your support of the proposed name and/or to make any suggestions for a different pool name.

The proposed name and other suggested names from this process will be presented to the Recreation and Parks Commission at their meeting on August 1. The Commission will discuss, vote and recommend a pool name to the City Council. The City Council will approve naming the pool at a subsequent meeting.
