Dear Neighbors,
I can't believe it's already November! I hope you are enjoying the lovely Fall weather and festivities. This Saturday is our 7th Annual Fall Fest 5k and I invite you and your family to join us for a great morning of connectivity outdoors.

If running isn't for you, feel free to stroll along the new route that includes a section on the new Stinson Hike & Bike Trail that opened last week. Strollers and pets are welcome!

If running is for you, we will have finisher medals for the first 150 runners!

I am so excited for the Stinson Hike & Bike Trail to now be open to locals and visitors alike! This gorgeous new area located right across from the Stinson Municipal Airport entrance will help connect families to a new section of the San Antonio trail system that also connects to the historic Mission Trail along the San Antonio River.

I'm grateful to all the partners involved that made this happen. Please feel free to share your photos with us of you and your family enjoying the new trail!
Last week I was honored to give the keynote speech at the City of San Antonio Women's Leadership Conference where the over 300 women who attended were ready to take on new levels of leadership within their organizations.

P articipants of this program are paired with a female City executive for a year-long, one-on-one mentoring relationship to learn best practices and how to remove barriers to advancement. At the conference they joined workshops on Interrupting Bias, Negotiation Skills and Conflict Resolution. I was grateful to share my story and am thankful to all the attendees that shared how they inspired they were by my journey and can't wait to see what leadership positions they move into!
This coming Monday, November 11, the District 3 office and the City of San Antonio will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. We continue our commitment to our veterans, to honor those who have gone before us, to honor those who have sacrificed for each and every one of us, and to honor those who have given themselves for the country and for our community.

Please see a list of City Services that will be open or closed in the City News section of our email newsletter.
Yours in service,
This month we are honoring Domestic Violence Awareness Month through the presence of the color purple.
