I'm sure there were a few of you as surprised as I was to hear the news earlier this week that Holland America Cruise Lines had announced plans to visit Yorktown in 2025. The plans captured in an article on the Williamsburg Visitor website were short on details so I contacted our Director of Tourism to ask what she knew about their plans. As it turns out, she was also blindsided by the news. I asked her to reach out to Holland America to gather more information.
Long story short, Holland America hadn't scheduled any plans with the county for visits, they shouldn't have advertised any Yorktown-related dates on their website since none were actually available and they will be removing the Yorktown destination options from their website in the near future.
I hope that helps to clear up any confusion the mistaken announcement may have caused.
