Hello all,
With election day 2023 now behind us I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement over both the campaign and my first two years as your representative. It's an honor for me to have earned your trust to continue serving you in my second term on the Board of Supervisors.
Now that the dust has settled from a long campaign I can start focusing more on the future and what we can accomplish together. I've already spoken with some new and returning elected leaders on how we can begin to move away from the legacy silo office environment we've grown accustomed to towards a more collaborative environment between the different county offices.
Sheriff Montgomery and I have plans to host additional community safety town halls. We'll also include Chief Kopczynski and our Fire & Life Safety department in those events as well. I'm eager to begin working with our two new Board members. The knowledge, experience and talents they'll bring to the table will be valuable in the decisions we’ll make together over the next four year. I've also spoken with our School Superintendent on plans to begin bringing the Board of Supervisors, School Board, county administration and school administration together to better support our students and teaching staff.
Building a local government that works together cohesively will result in an organization that will be more efficient and effective at serving the needs of the citizens and communities of York County. I'm excited to be able to be part of this effort and I'm looking forward to getting started.
Finally, one of the many positive aspects of this year's campaign has been the opportunity I've had to interact with so many people, both individually and in small group settings. That has been both rewarding and informative. It's also something I don't want to limit to just during the campaign months. Those discussions are just too valuable to limit to once every four years. So please let me know if you would like me to
attend your club meeting, HOA meeting, etc. to share news and information from the county. If you have something you'd like to discuss in person rather than over the phone or via email, just let me know if you'd like to meet somewhere local or at your home. One of the unique benefits of being a local elected official is that I'm only minutes away from anyone that I represent. So let's take advantage of that when we can.
Best regards,
Stephen
