Worlds Of Wonder Registration Open

It's time to sign up for Worlds of Wonder Summer School! WOW offers students a unique opportunity for summer learning and fun. Our summer program emphasizes creativity and critical thinking in a challenging and rewarding environment.

WOW registration will close on Thursday, May 22. Once the deadline passes, no additional student registrations will be accepted for the Worlds of Wonder program. This provides us with a week to plan for student arrival.

Congratulations Sarah!

Emerson Middle School student Sarah Kurian won the North Cook Regional Spelling Bee and became the first D64 student to win at that level! Sarah was the last speller among 28 participants, and the bee took about 2.5 hours to complete. Talk about endurance!

Sarah, a sixth grader, will now compete in the Regional ISC Spelling Bee on March 19.

1st Round Of Bond Sales Finalized

We wanted to share some good news about our recent bond sales from the referendum. On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, we sold $65 million out of the $89,106,629 million in bonds that were authorized by the referendum, and the process was finalized last week.

What’s even better is that the tax impact on our community is lower than we initially thought. It’s now estimated to be around $393 for a home valued at $500,000, compared to our original estimate of $412.

This reduction is thanks to more than $700,000 in savings on interest costs over the life of the bonds.

Happy Ramadan

Happy Ramadan to our families who celebrate!

Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection, and prayer for Muslims. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. They break their fasts by sharing meals with family and friends. Eid-al-Fitr is at the end of Ramadan, also known as the festival of breaking the fast.

Have You Registered For 2025-2026?

Please take a few minutes to follow the necessary steps. Even though the deadline is March 14, the earlier we get students registered, the better we can hire staff, plan for classes and classrooms, get necessary materials, and organize transportation.

The registration deadline will be noon on Friday, March 14, and if you register your child and pay the fees by then, you will receive the early bird discount. You must fill out and submit registration forms by Monday, March 10, at 3:00 pm to take advantage of the fee discount. This allows our staff time to verify documents and send out invoices so you can pay them by noon on Friday, March 14. Any families who do not register by this date will receive a records release, as we assume you’re going to another district.

You can find all the information on our Registration Page.
