District 64 eNews January 24, 2025

Registration Is Open

Registration is open!! Check it off your to-do list and register your child for the 2025-2026 school year!

You can find all the information on our Registration Page. Please take a few minutes to follow the necessary steps. Even though the deadline is March 14, the earlier we get students registered, the better we can hire staff, plan for classes and classrooms, get necessary materials, and organize transportation.

The registration deadline will be noon on Friday, March 14, and if you register your child and pay the fees by then, you will receive the early bird discount. You must fill out and submit registration forms by Monday, March 10, at 3:00 pm to take advantage of the fee discount. This allows our staff time to verify documents and send out invoices so you can pay them by noon on Friday, March 14. Any families who do not register by this date will receive a records release, as we assume you’re going to another district.

Jefferson Registration & Preschool For All

The Jefferson process is slightly different than in years past because of the Preschool for All grant.

All families (returning and new students) must follow the steps on our Registration Page. As part of the Preschool for All process, we need a few additional items from families to complete enrollment. The Registration Page has a "Jefferson Enrollment for 2025-26 & Preschool For All Information" expandable box that includes the additional items needed for preschool registration.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we work through this exciting change!

Student Device Evaluation Family Survey

The District 64 1:1 Digital Learning Program started in 2014. The purpose of our 1:1 Digital Learning Program is to provide tools and resources to our 21st Century learners.

District 64 is now conducting a comprehensive Student Device Evaluation as part of our 1:1 Digital Learning Program. The goal of this evaluation process is to ensure that our student devices support the district’s vision, mission, and strategic plan, provide learners with access to needed curriculum, and are affordable and sustainable for the future.

We are asking families to complete this survey. Your responses will help inform the District's next steps in regards to our 1:1 Digital Learning Program and student devices.

D64 Shining Star: Roosevelt's Salena Flint

District 64 celebrates excellence this January with Roosevelt Elementary School’s Head Secretary, Salena Flint, as our Shining Star.

“Salena graciously welcomes visitors to the Roosevelt office and works tirelessly to support the efforts of our staff, students, PTO, and greater Park Ridge community,” said Roosevelt Assistant Principal Jacquelyn Peters. “She is the first to jump in to help, and as many staff will attest, she always knows just what to say if you need a pep talk.”

Lincoln Student Performs

In All-Illinois Junior Band

Lincoln trumpet student Asher Corelitz participated in the All-Illinois Junior Band recently. As the first statewide middle school honor band in over half a century, membership in AIJB is determined solely through competitive blind auditions.

On January 17, Asher rehearsed with 80 other students throughout the state. He performed at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Krannert Center for Performing Arts under the direction of Dr. Linda Moorhouse. Dr. Linda Moorhouse is the current Professor and Director of the School of Music at the University of Illinois.

Asher is a 7th grade trumpet player at Lincoln Middle School. He currently plays in the symphonic band (top group), jazz band, percussion ensemble, principal chair of the CYSO Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, plays soccer, and enjoys to golf.

Congratulations on your performance Asher!
