Dancing Roosevelt Tigers

Roosevelt Elementary School hosted its Open House on Thursday. The annual event drew an amazing crowd as families started off the evening visiting classrooms and then transitioned into International Night!

A parade of nations through the hallways got the festivities going. In one gym, numerous cultural tables were set up with treats and history from all over the world.

After enjoying some sweet and savory snacks, a dance circle appeared. Inside the circle, talented Roosevelt Tigers showed off their best moves. We saw South Asian, Greek, Serbian, Irish, Latin American, Polish and Ball Room Dances!

Here are some photos from all of the fun

Spreading Kindness

Staying with the Tigers. Roosevelt earned its Kindness Seal for 2023. That's four straight years as a kindness-certified school.

Jazz Jamboree

It was a fun collaborative weekend for our Middle School Bands! Emerson and Lincoln participated in the Jazz Jamboree at Thomas Middle School in Arlington Heights last week. It was a summit of talented musicians and both schools did a fantastic job and received clinics from two jazz professionals in the non-competitive event.

One of the cool parts of this was that both schools could watch each other's performance.

You can read more and find pictures from the Jamboree on our website.
