Music Is In The Air

Emerson and Lincoln Middle Schools each had their first concerts of the year and the symphonic and jazz bands were amazing! These talented students had less than two months of practice before putting on this great performance.

Passing The Torch At Carpenter's Track-A-Thon

Carpenter had a really special guest at its track-a-thon today! Kosta Zografopoulos starting things off with his Olympic torches.

He was a torch carrier in the 2004 Athens Olympics and was involved in the Rio Paralympics Committee in 2012. He's an advocate in the disability community and promotes awareness and experiences through the ChicagoLand area.

Zografopoulos encouraged students to continue being great people and before each class got going they got to take a picture with the torches.

Thanks for stopping by Mr. Z!

Kindness Week

A tip of the cap to everyone at Franklin Elementary School. The Falcons finished up their school-wide fundraiser by doing different activities outside. Even better than the frog jumps and bear crawls...Franklin raised more than $35,000 and students completed 1,064 acts of kindness!

"How can you not be proud, right? Proud of our community and our students and all of the acts of kindness they've done," said Franklin Principal Kristin Williams. "It's an example of how wonderful our community is. But also the joy that Kindness Week brings to our community and to myself...I love it. It's one of my favorite two weeks of the entire school year."

Kiwanis Kicks Off District 64 Holiday Food Basket Drive

District 64 and the Park Ridge Kiwanis Club are thrilled to once again partner for the Holiday Food Basket Drive.

It will kick off on Thursday, October 20th, and end on Sunday, November 20th.

"Many of our families are still in recovery mode from the pandemic. The need to provide an added dose of support is greater than ever in our community," said Kiwanis Member and Park Ridge Police Chief Frank Kaminski. "We're hoping that everyone steps up and supports those in need. Even the smallest of donations will help.'

Donations can be provided online at www.kiwanisPR.org, or directly to Kiwanis Holiday Food Basket Fundraiser at 19 N. Seminary, Park Ridge, IL, 60068.

There are about 150 families throughout District 64 who struggle with food insecurity. The goal is to present a Mariano’s gift card to all families in need. The gift card for Mariano’s grocery store will be specific to groceries; additionally, Mariano’s will provide a coupon for a ham and pie as part of the basket.

The Kiwanis Foundation of Park Ridge is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section

501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code so contributions may be tax deductible. The campaign will end on Sunday, Nov. 20. Holiday Food Baskets will be distributed the week of December 5th.
