Preview of Sept. 21 BOE Meeting

The District 64 Board of Education will hold a regular scheduled meeting and public hearing on the budget on Thursday, September 21st, in the Hendee Rooms at the Jefferson Early Childhood Center. There will be a closed meeting at 6:00 p.m., with the regular meeting starting at 7:00 p.m.


The agenda for the September 21st regular meeting includes:

Successful 1st Beans, Brew & Ben

Thank you to all who attended the inaugural Beans, Brew, and Ben! As a community, we had some great conversations about our schools and children. 


If you missed this edition of Beans, Brew, and Ben, no worries. There are more on the way, as this will be a monthly gathering in the community. The next one will be on Wednesday, October 11th, from 9-10:30 a.m.

Our preschool students at the Jefferson Early Childhood Center have a blast and learn a lot, too. This week, it was shapes, colors, numbers, books, and using our five senses! Also, how great is the bowling lane with pool noodles as bumpers?!

The Great Sneaker Sweep

Do you have any nearly new or gently used sneakers you'd like to donate to a good cause? Join in on The Great Sneaker Sweep benefiting The Harbour.


Help us fill the shoe collection boxes at Field, Roosevelt and Jefferson! The boxes will be picked up on September 18th.

The Harbour is Park Ridge based non-profit that provides immediate, stable, and safe housing to youth and young mothers experiencing homelessness.

D64 Lot For Sale

District 64 is selling the lot located at 820 Rowe Avenue, Park Ridge. The vacant lot was connected to the former Oakton School and was kept by the District when the Oakton building was sold. 


The District has no use for this property now and is looking for a new owner to take it over. The land will be sold at public sale by sealed bid.


Bids are due by 1:30 p.m. on October 5th, 2023.
