Our administration team got together this week to prepare for the new year! Part of the discussions included walking through our strategic plan and sharing ideas on how to accomplish our goals of:

• Enhance Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Access
• Explore Program Expansion

A beautiful outdoor classroom is being added to Carpenter Elementary School. This area is being transformed thanks to a generous gift from the Carpenter PTO.

The project includes a sitting wall for reading, a classroom convertible bench that can seat 30 students, portable soft chairs for work in different places, all-new landscaping, and custom stone artwork made by Carpenter 4th & 5th graders last year. 

We can't wait to see all the learning and fun that will be had here! Pictured below is what things looked like as crews got going at the beginning of the week.

The District 64 Board of Education held a special meeting on Friday, July 28th, at the Jefferson Early Childhood Center.

This meeting was an Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) workshop. Once the Board adjourned from the closed meeting, they returned to the open session to summarize the special meeting.

As the school year approaches, the Cook County Clerk's Office is offering a few extended weekend hours for families needing to obtain a birth certificate.

Extended Saturday hours will be offered at the following Clerk’s Office locations on Aug. 5 and 19:
