Lincoln Art Gallery

Being recognized for your creativity and hard work is the best feeling, and dozens of Lincoln Middle School students got to do that by sharing their art with the community.

Students have their artwork displayed at Triple Scoop’d Ice Cream in Park Ridge to share with everyone. The artwork includes black-and-white photography, charcoal drawings, abstract watercolors, and more.

Lincoln art teachers Lee Deines and Janice Starkey helped put their students' artwork on display for all to enjoy.

Student artwork will be displayed until the end of March and can be viewed during business hours. Grab a cone and check out some art!

Wrestling Teams Get New Uniforms

The Emerson and Lincoln Middle School wrestling teams wore new uniforms at their meet at Maine South On Friday, January 26th. The Maine Eagles Wrestling Club and Park Ridge Wrestling Community donated the latest threads.

Emerson wrestling coach Erich Marx expressed his thanks for their generous donation and continued support for both teams. "This is a gracious and generous donation to the schools and their growing wrestling programs!"

No Student Attendance On March 8th

There will be no school on Friday, March 8, 2024.

We only had two days of school closings due to inclement weather before February 1st, meaning Friday, March 8th becomes a Records/Planning Day. Staff will work, but there will be no student attendance on March 8th.

Also, we have received a few questions regarding the March 19th "FPT" day on the calendar. There is no student attendance on March 19th, 2024. The Parent-Teacher Conference day, or FPT, has been relabeled on the public-facing calendars in hopes to avoid any misunderstandings. The update is now reflected on the 2023-2024 School Calendar Overview List and our website's embedded calendar. This change was only in name for the public calendars to make things clearer and not a change to the actual calendar.

Our community coffee series continues from 9-10:30 am on Tuesday, February 13th, at South Park Rec Center (833 W Talcott Road, Park Ridge). We’ve enjoyed hosting these events and the numerous meaningful conversations that have followed.

Please let us know if you plan on coming and chatting with us to give us a better idea of how much coffee to bring and how the setup will work.

Parent U: Angst Viewing

We have another Parent U event scheduled on Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00 pm in the Hendee Rooms (8200 Greendale Avenue Niles, IL 60714), where we will be hosting a viewing of the short film Angst. The film includes interviews with kids, teens, educators, experts, and parents to raise awareness around anxiety. The recommended age is 5th-8th grade parents and students.

The goal of Angst is to help people identify and understand the symptoms of anxiety and encourage them to reach out for help. Angst screens in schools, corporations, communities and theaters around the world. The film and corresponding materials provide tools, resources and above all, hope.

The North Cook Regional Office of Education/Intermediate Service Center partnered with Angst creator/producer/director Scilla Andreen to offer this for free to our community. View a trailer for the movie.

Please RSVP to the free viewing of Angst.
