All District 64 parents are invited to our inaugural D64 PTO Kick-Off! Hear from our Superintendent, Dr. Ben Collins, present information on the upcoming Referendum, and tour the aging Lincoln Middle School to see some of the proposed improvements with each school's Principal as your guide.

  • Lincoln Middle School (200 South Lincoln Avenue)

PTOs will have their annual kick-off meeting to highlight their year and offer an opportunity to meet more D64 parents. Daycare will be provided, and this will be a great opportunity to support your child's education.

A Look Back At Summer Construction

Let’s review what we achieved this summer in our scheduled construction projects. The elementary school gyms look fantastic! It might seem like a minor deal, but the previous gym floors were way past their lifespan.

Our photo gallery shows you some of the different steps of the process as crews removed the protective layer from the floors, repaired the base, poured polyurethane layers, and finally, a striped gym floor was ready for years of fun ahead! The plans also called for the lunch tables in the gyms to be replaced, but there is a supply issue, and we’re just waiting for them to be back in stock.

We have successfully replaced 35 exterior doors across the district, making a substantial investment in the safety and security of our schools. This initiative specifically targeted the most crucial exterior doors that were rusting and corroding, ensuring that the doors now lock and close correctly. All components of the doors were meticulously replaced, including the frames, crash bars, closures, and, of course, the doors themselves.

All this work was part of the regular budget and was identified as a need through our Master Facilities Plan

Referendum 2024 Q&A

Question: How can we ensure the district's schools will not be in the same critical condition in 10 to 20 years?

Answer: We recently created a 30-year long-term facility maintenance plan that can be found on our website. If the referendum is approved, this plan would enable us to accurately allocate the necessary funds in our budget over the next three decades to replace all the items outlined in the referendum. You can view the actual long-term capital planning spreadsheet here.
