Volume 22 | Early April 2020
FOUNDATION NEWS
We hope you all are adjusting to a new "normal" during this unprecedented time. We wanted to reach out to say THANK YOU for your continued support of the Foundation, which allows us to provide additional innovations for D95 learners. We are so grateful we were able to have our Annual Gala on March 7, when so many other fundraising events are forced to be cancelled.
Thank you to our Gala Sponsors
National Volunteer Week
In honor of National Volunteer Week (April 19-25) the Foundation would like to highlight all the things D95 does/is doing to give back, as part of our Annual D95 Gives Back Initiative. We're collecting videos and photos of D95 learners giving back. Maybe your son made a card for a Senior to lift her spirits? Maybe your children drew words of encouragement on the sidewalk? Maybe you dropped off items at the Food Pantry? Whatever it may be, WE WANT TO KNOW and highlight you on social media! #D95GivesBack. Email photos/videos to Erica at foundation@lz95.org by April 15 to participate!
Did you know that there are 59 languages spoken at home in D95? Our Cultural Diversity Fair may be cancelled, but here's another way to celebrate our rich diversity, and say THANK YOU to all the wonderful D95 staff:

Tutoring Center of Long Grove

Overwhelmed with e-learning? Let The Tutoring Center in Long Grove help out! They have adapted their highly reviewed Rotational Approach to Learning to the online world during the government mandated shutdown. With their online instruction, you will have access to one of their instructors in “breakout rooms” utilizing The Tutoring Center’s highly effective instructional workbooks. A maximum of 2 students per instructor, as it is with the physical location. Free assessments can still be completed online through a web conference (they are using Zoom, too!).

Once the world returns to “normal”, The Tutoring Center will open up the Long Grove location for the true, physical, Rotational Approach to Learning. For more info, visit  https://longgrove.tutoringcenter.com  or check our 5-star Google Reviews  here .  Additionally, to complete the ACT/SAT program in time for the early fall assessments, enrollment in the program by the middle part of April is recommended. Please call Center Director Andy Spetter (a D95 parent) at 847.383.5654 to set up your FREE diagnostic assessment and test consultation.
