  • District Attorney John Creuzot puts a price tag on justice - will not prosecute any theft valued at $750 or lower.

  • Dallas crime statistics are underrepresented due to residents not reporting crimes, believing their reports to be useless with a DA like John Creuzot who only prosecutes when it pays.

  • DA Creuzot knows that his paymaster, George Soros, will be displeased if he actually puts criminals in jail.

This Week's Top Stories:

Several People Injured After Crowd Shooting in Oak Cliff

Three people were injured in north Oak Cliff after multiple people shot into a crowd. The reason why Oak Cliff is known as a bad area is because shootings like this happen there regularly. These are the consequences of the culture of criminality enabled by city leaders who don't support public safety.

One Killed, One Injured in Shooting Near Deep Ellum

Argument leads to escalation. Escalation leads to shooting. Shooting leads to tragedies like this one that occur weekly in Dallas. When criminals don't fear enforcement of consequences, they grow brazen. How many more people victims will pile up before city leaders finally address Dallas obscene crime rate.

DART Appoints New Chief of Police

Charles Cato, the former chief of police for the City of Mesquite has been named the new chief of police for DART. Here’s hoping Cato's near 33 years of law enforcement will enable him to see DART’s recent crime streak cease and desist. Dallasites are hopeful for the return of safe, public transportation — but only time will tell if Cato is up to his new leadership role’s very tall task.

Ground Work Begins on Potential New Dallas Jail

Dallas begins considering groundbreaking a new jail. Now the question is: will they be convicting enough criminals to fill it? If District Attorney John Creuzot continues his 'Catch & Release' policy that is letting criminals back on the street, only to reoffend, building a new, much needed jail may be all for naught.

Weekly Camp Update:

The police, the city council members, and Mayor Johnson should call this issue what it is ... a few homeless people but mostly vagrants.

Every city leader that allows this to happen is obstructing Dallas from being a better, safer city. Vagrants do not have the right to use our collective sidewalks and overpasses as their personal homes, or to aggressively accost honest, hardworking Dallas residents.

Each week, Keep Dallas Safe takes a trip around the city's districts to document encampments with the purpose of informing the city of their locations, and advocate for the enforcement of the laws protecting residents and businesses from the problems these illegal camps produce.

We currently track more than 100 encampments around Dallas. Here are the top 3 highlighted this week:

"Predatory" Camp

Location: Councilman Omar Narvaez's District 6

This location has earned the title of "Predatory" camp because of the dangers that follow for those unfortunate enough to be near it.

When the Keep Dallas Safe team visited this encampment, the man featured in this photo became extremely hostile and confronted our team wielding a knife. Many people will have you believe that these vagrants are harmless, but we have seen first hand what they are capable of.

The "New?" Camp

Location: Councilman Omar Narvaez's District 6

This location earned the title of "New?camp because while this particular location is new, the city cleared up an encampment just down the street two months ago.

Dallas’ rinse, lather, repeat process continues: the city cleans up an encampment, only to have it reappear soon after. Until city leaders support and enforce real policy that seriously addresses homelessness, Dallas will make no progress.

"Everlasting" Camp

Location: Councilman Paul Ridley's

District 14

This location earned the title "Everlasting" camp because as we have documented and reported this location for months, there is yet to be any action taken by Councilman Paul Ridley.

The Keep Dallas Safe team has documented several locations like this one where vagrants, knowing the city won't bother them, set up mattresses and other furniture as they please.

If you see an encampment in your area, please notify your district councilman with the date and camp location via email.

Mission Statement:

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
