The FLGA District 35th Regular Convention

The FLGA District 35th Regular Convention will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista South in Orlando, FL, June 5-7, 2025.

As we prepare to gather for our District Convention in two weeks,

please join in fervent prayer that Christ’s love would COMPEL us in connecting many more to Jesus!

• Pray that our Convention work will result in greater fruit for the Kingdom
• Pray for a united and joyful spirit as we work together
• Pray for our lay and pastoral Delegates that they may come prepared and ready to serve
• Pray for the Resolutions that will come before the delegates and that they would further clarify our primary work and how we can best work together
• Pray for those who have been nominated for leadership positions
• Pray for the staff at the hotel and all who will serve us
• Pray for the District Staff and the Convention Committee as they prepare for the Convention
• And pray that all we do may be used now and in the years to come to equip, empower, and engage every congregation and member in living as Christ’s witnesses.

Offering & Ingathering Collection for the Lutheran Church of Uganda

From humble beginnings, the work of God’s Kingdom in Uganda continues to grow. Since 1997, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has sent 10 missionaries to serve in Uganda. Over time, the congregations grew from a couple of congregations to over 150 congregations serving over 50,000 members.

Uganda is home to 48 tribes and 52 spoken languages, and the Lutheran Church of Uganda (LCU) currently serves 11 tribes and 14 language areas. While English is the national language used in schools, most Ugandans worship in their tribal language. There is a great need for translations of Bibles, hymnals, catechisms, and other materials to spread the Gospel. 

The Lutheran Church of Uganda has specifically requested support, and we’re thrilled to be able to help! The goal of the ingathering is to collect gently used items from the Ingathering Items List (linked below) that are no longer needed by your congregation, pastors, and members—the items should still be in good condition and can make a meaningful impact on these LCU mission communities.

Your contributions will truly make a difference, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside them! The Convention Offering is designated for the LCU and will also cover the costs of shipping ingathering items to Uganda.

Volunteer help is needed with registration, greeting and directing attendees, ushering, and final-day clean-up. Convention Attendees Needed for Choir

The FLGA District invites convention attendees to join the choir from Grace Lutheran Church, Winter Haven, to sing for the concluding worship service on Saturday, June 7.

The choir will rehearse on Friday, June 6, after convention business has concluded for the day at 5:30 pm. Music will be provided at the rehearsal, but you can listen to the piece, "The Wind Blows Where It Wills," ahead of time here.
