ZIKA VIRUS UPDATE
Zika virus is currently spreading through Central and South America and causes a mild illness that lasts for up to a week. Approximately 80% of people infected with the virus do not become ill. The most common symptoms of are fever, rash, joint pain, soreness, and conjunctivitis (red eyes) and last a few days. The City of Houston Solid Waste Department has been working to reduce mosquito breeding areas, such as, heavy trash and illegal dumping sites. VETERAN'S AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES JOB FAIR
The City of Houston will host the 2nd Annual Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities Hiring Event scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2016, 8:00 to 11:30 a.m., at the United Way Community Resource Center, 50 Waugh Drive 77007.  The job fair is open to all veterans and people with disabilities.
