Council Member Cisneros' Resource Fair This Saturday
Join Council Member Cisneros for a District H Resource Fair at  St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Saturday, August 25th from 10 am to 1 pm . Click here for the bilingual flyer . In addition to presentations, there will be attorneys, consulates, health care resources, literacy resources, education and child-care resources, banking services, housing & repair services, non-profits, and more to support and share info with the community.
Non-Profits: Grant Opportunity
CASE for Kids City Connections, funded directly by the City of Houston, supports organizations that address the need for youth services outside the school day. Projects funded by the CASE for Kids City Connections programs are in places like schools, community centers, apartment complexes and churches. A free ladies self-defense class will be held by Carnalismo Brown Beret this Saturday, August 25th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center (6402 Market Street). RSVP here for your spot in the class.
Hardy & Nance studios is holding an art show to reflect on Hurricane Harvey and its impact on the one year anniversary of the storm. The event is free and open to the public, and a portion of all profits will go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Click here for more info.

Houston Paints Mexico Exhibit
Houston Public Library's newest exhibit, Houston South and North of the Border: Houston Paints Mexico features works by early 1920's Houston artists inspired by Mexico. Exhibit is free and open to the public. Click here for more info.
