At the Mayor's 9/14 press conference, he reiterated how important it is for ALL Houston residents to reach out for help if impacted by Harvey, no questions asked. Property Tax Proposal
Public Hearing Dates
Mayor Turner has proposed increasing the property tax rate in the City of Houston to offset the costs associated with the rebuilding efforts after Harvey. Three public hearings to be held in the City Council Chamber have been scheduled for conserned citizens to voice their opinions:
  • 6 pm, Monday, September 25, 2017
  • 6 pm, Monday, October 2, 2017
  • 9 am, Wednesday, October 11, 2017

Give Neighborhood Crime & Drugs a Going Away Party: National Night Out 2017
This year's National Night Out is coming up on Tuesday, October 3rd from 6 pm to 9 pm. Join the rest of the city in a united stand against crime. Grab a snack and go outside to meet your neighbors. If you'd like to invite your neighborhood police officers to your National Night Out event or need planning ideas, please call Officer Williams of the Houston Police Department's Public Affairs Office at 713-308-3253.
IMPORTANT WASTE PICKUP INFO
Recycling, junk waste, tree waste, and heavy trash pickup have been suspended until further notice.  This is due to a reallocation of resources to cope with debris removal. If you need to dispose of recyclables immediately you may take them to a Neighborhood Depository or the Westpark Recycling Facility. Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) and KBR for free family fun at the 11th Annual KBR Kids Day at Guadalupe Plaza Park. Featuring hands-on crafts and learning opportunities from non-profit partners, birds of prey show, music and entertainment from local performers, the park’s splash pad and tasty treats from local food trucks, this year’s Kids Day will surely captivate every child’s imagination! Families will also have the opportunity to learn how to paddle in a kayak along Houston’s historic waterway.
