Public Hearings on Redistricting
The City of Houston's Proposed Redistricting Plan is available to view on the City’s website at www.letstalkhouston.org/redistricting. Council Member Cisneros encourages everyone to review the proposed District H boundaries here.

The public's input is critical in finalizing the Redistricting Plan. You can sign up to speak, make comments or suggestions, and propose alternate plans. The third and final public hearing on the Proposed Redistricting Plan will be held Wednesday, July 20th at 9am in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 2nd Floor, 901 Bagby St.,

Anyone wishing to speak at any of the hearings should contact the City Secretary’s Office at 832-393-1100. Details for signing up to speak in-person or virtually, are also posted at https://www.houstontx.gov/council/meetingsinfo.html. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, July 19th at 5 pm.
This Week's TechConnect Fairs
TechConnect Fairs provide opportunities for kids and families to explore interactive hands-on technology and other STEM activities at District H Park Recreation Centers. Tonight! Community Visioning Session in Near Northside
The Houston Land Bank is hosting a Community Visioning Session for 3201 Hardy and 1406 Hays St ( the former Yellow Cab site). Organizers will lead a discussion about options for single family affordable housing that aligns with the community's vision for their neighborhood. View flyer here.

Health and Resource Fair in Northline
Several community groups and organizations have teamed up for the Back-to-School Healing Arts Health and Wellness Resource Fair in the Northline neighborhood. There will be school supply giveaways, refreshments, a Chromebook raffle, and much more. The event is free and open to the public.

Open Mic at Finca Tres Robles
Finca Tres Robles will be hosting an East End Open Mic night on their urban farm. The Mic is open and free to all artists, not just musicians, and sign-up begins at 6 PM. The first performer will begin at 7 PM with an intermission at 8:30pm.

Water will be provided and food will be available for a suggested donation. Any donations made will go towards the farm's Neighborhood Produce Program which provides subsidized distributions of locally grown produce, eggs, and meats for food insecure families in the East End.

Automotive Career Opportunity

Save the Date & Spread the Word: Gun Buyback on July 30th
As part of the One Safe Houston initiative, Mayor Sylvester Turner is partnering with County Commissioner Rodney Ellis to reduce the number of guns on our streets. The No-Questions-Asked Gun Buyback Program will be open to all members of the public. Once the weapon is collected, the person donating will receive a receipt to exchange for a gift card. Learn more about the program here and watch for more details as the event date nears.

Adoption Fees Waived at BARC for all Pets!
Shelters are full, and homeless pets need your help! BISSELL Pet Foundation's longest-ever Summer National #EmptyTheShelters event kicked off earlier this week and runs through July 30th. Thanks to the sponsorship, BARC is waiving adoption fees for ALL PETS.
Visit BARC's adoption center located at 3300 Carr St. from 12pm - 5pm to adopt a new furry friend. View pets available for adoption here and those needing a foster home here.
