South Lockwood Paving and Drainage Project
Plans for improvements to South Lockwood from North of Crites St to Suburban St are now available for public viewing through Houston Public Works' Engage Houston website. The project will reconstruct the existing four- and six-lane, divided roadway with curbs, storm sewer, sidewalks, driveways, street lighting, traffic control, and necessary underground utilities.

East End Farmers Market Celebrates Mardi Gras
Join the fun this Friday night for the East End District's Mardi Gras-themed, Last Friday Night Market. There will be live zydeco music, crawfish, and performances by the Milby High School Marching Band and Dance Team, and plenty of food and artisan vendors.

Resource Distribution in Eastex Jensen
Joseph House Community Outreach Center will hold a Resource Distribution Event this Saturday. Available items include food, clothes, shoes, small appliances, gardening items, and household goods. No registration necessary. Distribution will continue while supplies last. Learn more here.

Emancipation National Historic Trail
The National Park Service is currently working on the Emancipation National Historic Trail Feasibility Study and is seeking community input. The route was used by previously enslaved people to emigrate from Galveston to Houston following Emancipation. Three online meetings will be held to explain the study process, answer questions, and gather information. More info here.

Near Northside and Second Ward Opportunity for Artists
-Environmental Storytelling Initiative Launches
Houston Inspira is a public health storytelling campaign that is seeking local artists, musicians, playwrights, dancers, writers, and all creatives to engage with communities to educate, inform and activate via storytelling. The project is focusing on five Houston communities that face risks from elevated levels of environmental pollutants.

Vaccination and Testing Info
Vaccination and testing at Health Department-affiliated sites do not require proof of residency, citizenship, or insurance. People who get their first dose or booster shot at eligible vaccination sites will be entered into drawings for $1,000 gift cards and hundreds of $50 gift cards at select sites. Site locations, schedules, and appointment information are available on the City's COVID-19 webpage or by calling 832-393-4220.
Your Vote is your Voice
This Friday, February 25th is the last day to participate in Early Voting. Election Day for the Democratic Party and Republican Party Primary is next Tuesday, March 1st. Harris County registered voters can vote at any polling location in the county.
