Memorial Heights Paving and Drainage Project
There will be a community meeting next week to share info about a paving and drainage project planned for Memorial Heights, John Brasher and parts of the Houston Heights. Questions and/or comments prior to the meeting can be emailed to buildforward@housontx.gov. Learn more about the project and how to prepare for construction here.

Award Winning Houston Parks Projects
The Riparian Restoration Initiative, along White Oak Bayou and I-10, is one of two innovative Parks Department projects, that was recently recognized and honored by the Houston-Galveston Area Council at the annual Parks and Natural Areas Award Program. The Riparian Restoration Initiative improves land adjacent to bayous, streams, and rivers by helping to mitigate flooding, improve water quality, reduce erosion and create wildlife habitat. More info here.
Free Meals for Seniors & Veterans
If you or someone you know is a homebound senior over 60, a veteran, or a person with disabilities you may be eligible for the Meals on Wheels program to receive weekly meal deliveries. Call 713-533-4978 and speak with a Meals on Wheels staff member to see if you qualify. More info here.

Free Business Education Program
Applications are now open for Build Up Houston, a no-cost executive education program that provides small business owners with practical business education, a supportive business network, and access to contracting opportunities. Businesses in the construction, technology, service, restaurant, or hospitality industries can apply before March 31st. Emancipation National Historic Trail
The National Park Service is currently working on the Emancipation National Historic Trail Feasibility Study and is seeking community input. The study addresses the route described as being used by previously enslaved people to emigrate from Galveston to Houston following Emancipation. Three online meetings will be held to explain the study process, answer questions, and gather information. More info here.

Get Your Vaccine Today
The Houston Health Department's incentive program continues: People who get their first dose or booster shot at eligible vaccination sites will be entered into drawings for $1,000 gift cards and hundreds of $50 gift cards are available at select sites. Vaccination and testing at health department-affiliated sites do not require proof of residency, citizenship, or insurance. Site locations, schedules, and appointment information are available on the City's COVID-19 webpage or by calling 832-393-4220.
Cast Your Ballot Today
Avoid the crowds and vote early in the Democratic and Republican primaries from Monday, February 14th until Friday, February 25th. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, March 1st. Harris County registered voters can vote at any polling location in the county.
Low Cost Internet for Eligible Households
New federal benefits can reduce internet costs for eligible households. The Affordable Connectivity Program partners with internet providers, such as AT&T and Xfinity, to reduce monthly internet costs by up to $30/month. Visit the ACP website to learn more about the program and its benefits.
