Consulates, Attorneys, Non-Profits, & Educational Presentations
Join Council Member Cisneros for an Immigration Resource Fair she is hosting at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church  this Saturday, January 27th from 10 am to 1 pm . In addition to educational presentations on SB 4, the State of the Dream Act, and Knowing Your Rights, consulates, health care providers, attorneys, non-profits, and more will be present to share information and resources with the immigrant community. Rebuilding Together Seeking After Harvey Rebuilding Project Volunteers
Both skilled and unskilled volunteers and crew leaders are needed to assist in day-long Home After Harvey home rebuilding projects. Projects can include tasks such as floor installation, home exterior repair, kitchen counter installation, and more. Individual volunteers should sign up here , crew leaders here.

Give Input, Learn More About Hazard Mitigation Plan & How To Reduce Your Family's Risk From Natural Hazards
Every 5 years, cities are required to review and revise their Hazard Mitigation Plans, as required by FEMA. The plan is used to identify projects that can be funded through local, state, and federal resources that help reduce Houston's risk to Natural Hazard. The Office of Emergency Management is holding a workshop where residents can contribute comments to the Plan, assess their home's risk from natural hazards, and speak one-on-one with reps from various government agencies to learn more about how to reduce their family's risk.
