Attention District H: Free Spay/Neuter Opportunity
Council Member Cisneros  has partnered with K9 Angels to bring back  The Empty Shelter Project  to the Denver Harbor Multi Service Center on Saturday, June 1, 2019.  When Council Member Cisneros last hosted this free event on 3/2/19, a record- breaking 472 dogs and cats were spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. A Meaningful Memorial Day
We honor and reflect on the sacrifice of soldiers who gave their lives in service to this country. The Gathering of Eagles invites you to join them on this national day of mourning at the Field of Honor within Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale) from noon to 1 pm on 5/27/19.
2nd Ward: Free Bike Ride Honoring Women
Join in on a social bike ride and celebration of women and girls this Saturday. This family-friendly ride will stop at city parks, famous murals, and will include treats/eats for everyone. More info here.

Is your family an Independence Heights legacy family? Can you trace your roots back to the original settlers of the community? Join in on the monthly meeting where descendants learn about legacy plans in the community.

Learn about becoming a US citizen (including eligibility and the N-400 application), the 100 Civics questions, and practice the naturalization interview.

11th Street Proposal
The Houston Bike Plan website ( visit it here) has been updated to reflect the 2nd public meeting for the 11th Street proposal held on 5/8/19 at Hogg Middle School. It includes the presentation, area maps, and questions/comments posed at the meeting. Feedback regarding the proposal may be sent here.
Free METRO Rides For Students June 1st - September 1st
METRO's got a summer treat for all students: ride free on their buses and trains all summer long 6/1-9/1. Just use your existing Student METRO Q Fare Card. More details here.
