Notice: Consolidated Council Meeting Next Week
Next week, City Council will meet in a consolidated meeting on Wednesday, May 30th. There will be no meeting on Tuesday, May 29th. Public session will begin at 9 am on Wednesday. All Council meetings are held at 901 Bagby, 2nd Floor in Council Chambers.

Emergency Response Training
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. This class is coordinated by the City of Houston Homeland Security, is taught by subject matter experts, and is free of charge. Held on Mondays June 4th - July 23rd at Greenhouse International Church (200 West Greens Road), you should register by May 25th by calling Janice Weaver at 832-393-0849 or sending her an email.
Celebration of Second Ward Mural Repainting
Join Council Member Cisneros in the celebration honoring GONZO247's repainting of famous Second Ward mural, "The Rebirth of Our Nationality".

Friday: Jazz Performance Downtown
Start your Memorial Day weekend by going to a free concert featuring Wynton Marsalis, famed trumpeter and Artistic Director of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City as well as Vincent Gardner of the Jazz Houston Orchestra. Hosted by Jazz Houston and the Houston Public Library, this family-friendly event is sure to be a hit!
