Denver Harbor: Council Member Cisneros to Host TechConnect Fair 6/28
Learn to code, participate in engaging, interactive tech activities, and enjoy  FREE FAMILY FUN  at the third of five annual TechConnect Fairs. $1 Pet Adoptions This Week!
BARC is offering $1 adoptions for both cats and dogs all weekend long. The shelter has capacity for 550 animals but has been taking in 700 animals each week since May. With intakes expected to remain high all summer, BARC is asking you to adopt! View adoptable pets on BARC's website.

Northside Community Meeting

Student Love Your Pet Photography Exhibit at MFAH
Through the end of the summer, work students did as part of Council Member Cisneros' annual Love Your Pet campaign is on display at the Kinder Foundation Education Center Gallery until September 8th. This exhibit is a result of a partnership between Council Member Cisneros, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Houston Center for Photography and features District H student photography advocating responsible pet ownership. Hardy/Near Northside TIRZ 21 Community Meetings
There are two opportunities in the coming days for the public to learn and give feedback on how the Hardy/Near Northside Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone can grow in your community.

Near Northside: Snapshot Sculpture Project
Be part of the process and create mosaic tile artwork to be used on the base of a new sculpture planned for the Near Northside. All are welcome, young children should be accompanied by adult. Workshop supplies provided.

Lindale Park: July 4th Event
Celebrate with the Lindale Park Civic Club as they host their 20th Annual 4th of July Parade. Food from "laMarco" food truck will be available and the YMCA pool will be open and free to the public starting at noon.

Auditions for Spanish-Speaking Child Actors
The Houston Grand Opera is seeking children ages of 7-12 years of age, who are fluent Spanish speakers and have previous stage experience, for a new holiday opera scheduled to play this December. Register For Back to School Resources
You have until July 12, 2019 to register your child for a spot at the Mayor's Back to School Fest on August 3, 2019. The largest Back to School Fair in the City, this event will have free immunizations, free dental screenings, haircut vouchers, school supplies/backpacks, a free round trip courtesy of METRO, fun demos and giveaways. Take advantage of Commissioner Adrian Garcia's free SAT prep course! This 4-week program is four is available to students who reside within Precinct 2, and have proof of registration for the August 24th SAT. Space is limited, so sign up today.
