BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions is hosting Healthy Pets Healthy Streets events in the Near Northside and Second Ward, where FREE spay-neuter service voucher appointments will be given to pet owners who live within the City of Houston limits. Public Meetings on Upcoming City Referendum Elections
Mayor Sylvester Turner is hosting town hall meetings in each City Council district about the Rebuild Houston and fire union salary referendum elections on the November 6, 2018 ballot. If you missed the District H meeting on 9/10, you can find details on upcoming town hall meetings here .   • Near Northside residents are encouraged to attend a planning meeting on the third civility ordinance in the Near Northside.
  • When: 9/20, 6-7:30 pm

  • A public meeting is being held on the minimum lot size effort for the area behind Ketelsen Elementary with boundaries of Henry to Hogan, Fulton to Freeman. Residents are encouraged to attend.

High School Students: Apply For The Youth Police Advisory Council By 10/1
The Houston Police Department invites Houston area high school students to apply for the 2018-2019 Youth Police Advisory Council (YPAC). Students will address issues affecting youth and the community, participate in community service projects and attend youth leadership conferences throughout the state. For more info, click here.
