It is important for everyone to report homes that flooded during Tropical Storm Imelda, because this is part of the data that will determine whether or not the Houston area will be eligible for FEMA disaster funding. Last Subcommittee on Education Meeting of the Year
Next Wednesday's Subcommittee on Education meeting will focus on asset building in young people. Join Council Member Cisneros for a presentation from the City's Health Department and the YMCA of Greater Houston. All are invited to a short networking reception which will immediately follow.

Booker T. Washington HS Homecoming Parade & Reunion

Reception Honoring District H Student Photographers
Council Member Cisneros is proud to honor with a reception this evening the students of Clemente Martinez Elementary, Looscan Elementary, Sherman Elementary, and Promise Community School at Ripley House whose work reflecting pet ownership is up at the Museum of Fine Arts through October 15th as part of a Love Your Pet exhibit. Free Vaccination Clinic at Hogg MS
To help you protect your child's health, certain HISD middle schools will be hosting free adolescent vaccination clinics, where your child can receive all of the recommended shots for their age group on campus during school hours. Call 713-500-2555 for more info.

Crafts at Woodland Park

Put a STOP to Illegal Dumping
Crime Stoppers of Houston, Constable Alan Rosen, the City of Houston and others launched a new illegal dumping initiative that rewards tipsters so that law enforcement investigators can stop this blight in our neighborhoods. Crime Stoppers of Houston has printed yard signs members of the public can request for their neighborhood for free by calling (713) 521-4600.
Free Chicano Festival All Weekend
The 40th annual Festival Chicano is a reflection of the artistic creativity that has developed in the Chicano cultural experience after centuries of influence of native peoples Mexico, Europeans, and the USA. All performances as part of the festival are free - more info on the event and tickets here.
