Join Council Member Cisneros for a District H Resource Fair at    St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (501 Tidwell) this Saturday, August 24th from 10 am to 1 pm. View the bilingual flyer here . In addition to presentations, there will be attorneys, consulates, health care resources, literacy resources, education and child-care resources, banking services, non-profits and more to support and share info with the community.

Council Member Cisneros is bringing another Houston Arts Alliance grant workshop to District H next week. The 2020 HAA grant application window closes  Sept 20th. Learn more about the application process by attending the workshop at Booker T. Washington HS. More info here.

District H Back to School Fairs & Giveaways
It's that time again! Prepare your family for the start of school by attending one of these District H events, which feature backpacks, school supplies, health resources, screenings, and more.

  • Every year, Council Member Cisneros delivers backpacks directly to District H elementary schools based on each individual school's needs. Council Member Cisneros understands that some families are unable to attend the various back to school events so her backpack initiative is unique in guaranteeing that every elementary school child will have a backpack on the first day of school. Children's Museum: Free Back to School Immunizations
Every Thursday for the rest of August, the Children's Museum will offer free immunizations to the first 150 children to arrive. These are administered by Texas Children's Mobile Clinic Program. To qualify, parents and guardians need to bring their child's immunizations records. More info here.
Movie Night at Rice
All are invited to a free family movie night at the historic Rice Stadium this Saturday night at 8 pm. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and refreshments (no gum or glass please) and enjoy Incredibles 2!
