Comcast: Veteran Opportunity
Comcast recently expanded eligibility for their Internet Essentials program to also include low-income veterans who live in their service area. Internet Essentials from Comcast connects low-income residents to low-cost, high-speed internet at home. Click here for more info .
Adopt a Drain, Name a Drain, Prevent Flooding!
Houston's Adopt-A-Drain program launched April 2018 and upgrades have been unveiled recently, including the naming feature. The program allows the community to help prevent future flooding and keeps neighborhood storm drains clean. As Adopt-A-Drain partners, program participants are asked to keep their drain clear by cleaning it at least 4x/year (especially before it rains). Bring Your Recyclables & Dispose of Junk Waste at Neighborhood Depository
To learn more about what neighborhood depositories accept and what you need to bring with you, click here. Due to Daylight Savings Time, neighborhood depositories will operate 9am - 6 pm.
Download the 311 app to your Android or iPhone . When you see an issue in your neighborhood,  use the app to report it . You can even include photos! If you prefer to talk directly to a representative about your issue, or want to request information about City resources, birth certificates, elections, and more, call 713-837-0311. Remember: Always call 911 in the case of an emergency!
