Capital Improvement Plan & Impact of Hurricane Harvey
Join Council Member Cisneros, Mayor Turner, City Departments, and FEMA in a District H Town Hall to discuss the Capital Improvement Project process and the impact of Hurricane Harvey on funding. After project updates, constituents will participate in constituent breakout sessions to discuss neighborhood recovery centers, home repair, and get info from City departments and FEMA. Summer Food Service Program
Deadline to Apply: 3/30/18
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) 2018 Summer Food Service Program for youth ages 1 to 18 will operate from June 4 through August 10. Churches, non-profits, apartment complexes, learning centers, and schools are encouraged to apply by the March 30th deadline. The flood waters have receded, but there are still many people who need help rebuilding their homes and their lives – The "Houston Still Needs You!" campaign is working to recruit and engage volunteers to work with area non-profits who are providing relief and recovery services to flood victims across Houston . If you are interested in volunteering, apply here.
Mayor's Art Scholarship - Seeking Entries!
Since 2014, the City of Houston and Houston Arts Partners have awarded $15,000 in scholarships to artists in grades 11 and 12. If you are a junior or senior at a Houston-area public or charter high school, you can enter now! Get more info here .

The City offers a Home Buyer Assistance Program that provides up to $25,000 in financial assistance. If you are a first-time home Buyer with qualified low-to-moderate income, contact the Housing office today by calling 832.394.6200 to begin your application.
