District H Capital Improvement Plan FY 2018 Public Meeting: March 7th
Join Council Member Cisneros, Mayor Turner, City Departments, and FEMA in a District H Town Hall to discuss the Capital Improvement Project process and the impact of Hurricane Harvey on funding. After project updates, constituents will participate in constituent breakout sessions to discuss neighborhood recovery centers, home repair, and get info from City departments and FEMA.

Give Your Input On Floodplain Ordinance - Deadline EXTENDED
The City of Houston is considering  revisions to Chapter 19  to ensure new dwellings are built high enough save lives and property in the event of flooding. The City is seeking public input on the proposed revisions.

Mon., 3/5/18: Public input closes
Thurs., 3/15/18: Draft ordinance posted
Wed., 3/21/18: Draft ordinance presented to Council for vote

Early Voting Through March 6th, Free METRO Rides
Early voting is now underway. You can cast your vote at any polling location listed here through March 2nd or at their assigned polling location on Election Day (March 6th).

METRO is offering free rides to Houston area polling locations. Voters can ride at no charge on Saturday February 24th 7 am to 7 pm and on Tuesday, March 6th, 7 am to 7 pm. Voters should inform bus operators or fare inspectors they are going to or returning from the polls in order to receive free rides.
