Seeking Volunteers & Proposals
Serve your neighbors in the Near Northside by volunteering with GatorServe on MLK Day. A UH Downtown annual day of service, GatorServe is focusing in the Near Northside, but needs volunteers as well as volunteer opportunities . Possible opportunities include small tasks such as yard work, painting, changing batteries, hanging pictures, taking down Christmas decorations, etc. You can sign up to volunteer for GatorServe here and/or propose a project for GatorServe here .
Meeting On Proposed Revisions To City Regulations On Congregate Living Facilities
Join Council Member Cisneros for an update from the Administration and Regulatory Affairs Department on proposed changes to City regulations on boarding homes, lodging facilities, and alternate housing facilities on January 10th . Yard/Tree Waste Resumes 1/2/18
In coordination with its Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program, the Solid Waste Management Department will restart its Yard/Tree Waste Collection and Recycling Program on Tuesday, January 2 , 2018. For further instructions on how to prepare yard waste for ease of collection, click here .
Sign Up To Count The Homeless
Sign up to volunteer for the annual Point-In-Time Homeless Count. The collected data is a requirement for federal funding that provides permanent housing and support services.
Questions About the City's Requests For (Harvey Relief) Federal Funding?
Mayor Sylvester Turner has launched a website detailing the City’s requests for the third supplemental appropriations bill for Harvey relief. The website will be continually updated with news pertaining to the City’s advocacy for Harvey relief.
