Council Member Cisneros to Host 1st of 4 TechConnect Fairs June 15th
Learn to code, participate in engaging, interactive tech activities, and enjoy  FREE FAMILY FUN  at the first of four annual TechConnect Fairs. Self Defense For Women
Safe Walk Home Northside, Carnalismo Brown Berets de Houston, and PsyCombat have partnered to bring free self-defense classes for women. Open to the public, be sure to RSVP here or call 713-598-2908 as space is limited. You should wear work out clothing and comfortable shoes and arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration.

Students Ride Free This Summer on METRO
Metro's Sum-mer of Fun program has kicked off, meaning students kindergarten through college ride FREE with their Student METRO Q Card until September 1st. This includes rides on METRORail, local buses, and Park & Ride services. Click here to apply for your Student METRO Q Card.

Competition Kicks Off June 6th
Entrepreneurs : Enter the Mayor's 2018 Liftoff Houston Start-Up Business Plan competition designed to engage and empower Houstonians seeking to start a new business in Houston by providing them with access to essential info, resources, and support. . Fair Housing Public Meeting June 14th
The state is seeking public input as they develop their draft Analysis of Impediments ("AI") to Fair Housing Choice. This is a meeting to communicate Texans' needs and goals for use of future federal program funds. Feedback regarding fair housing issues, particularly issues affecting protected classes under the Fair Housing Act: race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and familial status; and the ability of those persons to exercise housing choice is welcome.
