Ongoing Partial Demolition at Woodbury

Partial demolition at Woodbury is ongoing. Gilbane Building Company and AKA Construction Management started demolition with the pool and gym. Building material from those structures has been removed from the site. The construction crews are currently removing the concrete floor of the pool. The center building of Woodbury, which was built in 1918, will be retained and renovated. The District is working with Gilbane to finalize signage for the construction fence, which will show a rendering of the new building.

In the spring of 2026, contractors will begin work on the addition, including classrooms, an auditorium and a natatorium. The Woodbury building will reopen in Fall 2027 as the new Middle Years building.

The playground equipment for ages 6-12 was installed this week. Installation of the PreK playground equipment for ages 3-5 begins this weekend. Masonry work is ongoing with the brick veneer at the south addition of the building. Furniture will be placed starting on August 25.
