City’s Sustainability Committee Receives Briefing

On February 13, a representative from Emerald Built Environments presented sustainability information to the City’s Sustainability Committee. This was a shortened version of the information shared at the February 11 Board of Education meeting. The presentation served as a “formal” step in School District/City collaboration around the broad topic of sustainability. The District will continue its participation in the Shaker Heights Schools Forum on Sustainability and will provide regular updates on the development of the District’s plan at those meetings.

The District also will present the Woodbury Tree Protection Plan to the Tree Advisory Board on April 8, during which Tree Advisory Board members will be given an opportunity to share their expectations for the how the District’s Sustainability Plan will include policies on tree preservation and how the District can continue to provide opportunities for new tree plantings. And, the City will host Arbor Day tree plantings at the Ludlow Early Learning Center in late April.
