Ludlow Early Learning Center — Construction Update

Interior demolition is complete and renovation work has begun. The construction manager is preparing cost estimates for the extended play area and site amenities. This quote will include the site work necessary for relocating the ball field backstop and ensuring the soccer field supports the matches programmed for younger athletes at Ludlow Field. When the weather warms up in early spring, the City’s Public Works team will investigate the drainage infrastructure to determine if blockages need to be removed or if other repairs are required. The District and City leadership will review cost estimates and condition assessments to determine next steps.

Ludlow Early Learning Center — Early Enrollment Encouraged

All parents who are interested in enrolling their preschool student in the Ludlow Early Learning Center’s PreK program next fall are encouraged to visit the District’s preschool webpage. Early enrollment is strongly encouraged.

Woodbury Campus Site Design Continues to Evolve

On January 6, an updated site plan and building massing was presented to the City’s Architectural Board of Review (ABR) for member feedback. At the January 14 Board of Education meeting, members of the project team will review the 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day schedules and major milestones. A status report and next steps for the Fernway and K-5 projects will be shared as well.

Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) Meeting Dates

To allow the project architects additional time to advance the building’s massing and elevations, the Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) will not meet on January 13. FAC meetings for the remainder of the academic year are scheduled for February 3, March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 9. FAC Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Shaker Heights Public Library, 16500 Van Aken Blvd.
